What to expect

At Crossroads we want you to feel welcome and at home.  As our quests we want you to know that we are glad that you are here and we want you to make your self comfortable and casual.

For your kids we have a Nursery available from birth to 2 years.  We have kids programming for the 9:15a and 11:00a services for 3y to 5th grade.   We also offer a youth worship service for 6th – 12th grades in the Loft at the 11:00a service.

If you have any questions or need directions we have a Welcome team who are more than capable to show you around.  We can help you take your kids to the right rooms and find the perfect seat to prepare you for contemporary worship and heart challenging messages.

We do take communion every week together.  we are not concerned with denominational labels, just hearts.  So if you are a follower of Jesus…you are invited to participate.

Come visit with us this Sunday and join us for coffee and a donut.

We look forward to getting to know you.

Worship

Worship at Crossroads is intentional. It is in a welcoming atmosphere that allows us to lift up the name of God with praise and honor through music, song, and media. The band isn’t there for entertainment, we are there to worship with you! Expect a lively and energetic praise service that encourages you to worship however you feel moved – clap, raise your hands, dance, but most of all, sing to the Lord!  The worship is for Him and Him alone!

Common Questions

Service Length

Our 8:00 a.m. service typically lasts less than 60 minutes. Our later services last anywhere from 75 to 90 minutes.

Do I need to prepare for anything?

No. Crossroads is guest-friendly. We want to give people the space and time to decide if Crossroads is for them. However, our pastors do hope you’ll introduce yourself following the service and we hope you receive a warm welcome from those around you.

Is there a dresscode?

At Crossroads, there’s no dress code. We want people to come as they are. If you’re comfortable worshiping in a suit and tie, please do so. But, if that doesn’t feel like you, then we want you to feel comfortable in your blue jeans too.  After all, 1 Samuel 16:7 says, “man looks at outward appearances, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

Is it okay to laugh?

Oh yes! And, we hope you do. Ecclesiastes says there’s a time for everything including a time to laugh. We like to have fun and we like to be real. We want church to be something people look forward to each week.

What about our kids?

Crossroads offers a nursery for infants and toddlers and children’s church for kids ages 3 years to 5th grade during our 9:15 and 10:45 a.m. services. We also have a student worship service for kids in Grades 6-12 in The Loft upstairs at 10:45 a.m. Need help getting to the right place? Stop by our Guest Center or ask one of our greeters. They are here to assist you!

How did this church get started?

The Christian Evangelizing Association of Kansas is always looking for places to start new churches. The CEA’s mission is to ensure that people have access to Bible-preaching churches that are designed much like the churches of the first century—free of creeds and man-made teachings. Shawnee was identified for such a church back in the early 1990s.

Can I grab a coffee and donut?

You betcha! Crossroads serves free donuts and coffee between our second and third services at the back of the gym. This is a time to hang out and meet others
