Pastoral Care Team

Purpose
To provide personal Christian care for the congregation using Jesus Christ as our example.

Ways to Serve
Stephen Ministry:
This ministry equips people to provide confidential, one-to-one Christian care to individuals in our congregation and community who are experiencing a crisis, facing a challenge or simply going through a tough time. To become a Stephen Minister you are required to:

  • Complete 50 hours of training.
  • Meet twice a month with other Stephen Ministers for continuing education and support.

After becoming a Stephen Minister you will be assigned one or two individuals to whom you will:

  • Meet with on a weekly basis.
  • Maintain contact via phone calls, e-mail, and/or cards.

Prayer Team:
Prayer has an amazing power to effect the purposes of God. Our Prayer Team is a group of individuals who have committed to praying for people and issues shared via e-mail.

General Care:
Crossroads’ Pastoral Care Team works to provide individuals within the Crossroads’ congregation with the following:

  • Visitation: Through visiting those in hospitals, homes, care facilities, the grieving and the dying, we will attempt to show the compassion our Lord has shown by providing the comfort of Christian fellowship.
  • Serving: Work to meet the needs of the congregation in individual ways, always motivated by God’s love.
  • Relationship Building: It is our goal to develop relationships within the body of the church for spiritual, emotional and social   support.
  • Listen: Endeavor to learn and practice active listening as needed to provide support to the congregation.
  • Provide Comfort: Offer comfort and support to the ill, the grieving and the dying.
